Investigating Light

Observing an interesting reflection the students created a magic place and a starting point....From children's interest in light, students and teacher started a proyect around this topic. Encouraging to use a range of materials and processes.

Students took on the role of light scientists and artists. The children were exploring and working through this idea, discovering a lot of facts on prims and refraction at the same time they ejoyed with art as a process. At the heart of the Reggio Emilia approach is the belief that children are competent, capable, curious, and able to actively participate in their own learning.  The way children explore the art medium or tools is as important as the final product. Children participate in ways to express their thoughts, feelings, and ideas.

We created different installations sculptures. And families took part of this experimentation. Hands on activities and light boxes as slide projector were used.
